Brunch @ The Hub

Last Sunday I was in Louisville, Kentucky. My friend and I stayed the night after the Kentucky Derby. We didn’t want to get up and drive back to Clarksville right away so we decided to do brunch. I heard that Louisville is a foodie city, so I was super excited to eat there. After searching Yelp for the best brunch spot, we finally decided on a place to eat…The Hub. The Hub had really good reviews, a great brunch menu, outside seating, and most importantly…$1.00 mimosas!

Brunch is served every Sunday from 11:00 to 15:00. During this time, they offer $1.00 mimosas, $2.00 double mimosas, and $10.00 bottles of champagne with a pitcher of orange juice. These mimosas were so good. I could have drank them all day.

On the menu they had an app called breakfast nachos. I am not a huge fan of breakfast foods but this was far from the ordinary breakfast. It was tortilla chips topped with chipotle beer cheese, breakfast sausage, tomato, cilantro, green onion, and a sunny side up egg.

My eyes opened wide with amazement when the bowl was placed in front of me. It looked glorious! I had to take a video of going in for the egg.

Here’s an after photo.

These nachos were amazing and really hit the spot. They weren’t over-loaded with toppings, but there were enough toppings for all of the chips. The sausage was ground sausage so it looked like ground beef and the egg added uniqueness to the dish.

I also got a side of buffalo sauce which really completed the nachos.

Next came the meatballs. We stayed until they switched over to the lunch menu at three just to order these.

The meatballs were served in a house made marinara sauce and had pieces of bread on the side. These meatballs did not disappoint. I loved them even more with the bread.

After 15:00, the mimosas were no longer on special but they did offer new drink specials. They had a list of certain drinks that were only $5.00. I was so excited to see more specials. My friend ordered the New York Sour.

We both tried it and loved it. Neither one of us had heard of it but we were happy to try it. The New York Sour is made with whiskey, lemon juice, simple syrup, and red wine.

After brunch we had to take our three hour drive back to Clarksville. I was sad to go. I had no idea that I would like Louisville as much as I did. I definitely want to go back and check out more restaurants. If you are in the area, The Hub is worth stopping by. You will not be disappointed!
